After two decades of work with wild and domesticated animals, Dr. Marc has learned that animals are healthiest when humans intervene the least. His extensive experience as a wildlife veterinarian includes prior roles as head veterinarian of the Staten Island zoo, Asia field veterinary manager for the Smithsonian, and clinical advisor to the Giant Panda Breeding program in Chengdu China.
Dr. Valitutto, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania veterinary school, is general curator/vet at New York's Staten Island Zoo and consulting veterinarian for the Livingston Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy in Litchfield. After completing his residency training at the Wildlife Conservation Society (Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, Queens Zoo and New York Aquarium), he worked briefly as head veterinarian for the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute: a 3,500-acre park dedicated to propagating endangered species.
